Testimony from Jacob

My name is Jacob, and I am one of the fortunate men who has a safe place to rest my head at night. Originally, I was born in Safford, AZ. Raised in Tucson, I’ve had the honor of being able to fully embrace my calling and follow the Lord’s guidance. I was rescued from a self-imposed hell that I did not know how to break free from and that I had put myself through. There are no coincidences. Everything happens for a reason, and God knows what he’s doing, and I trust my King with every fiber of my being. This has been my time to get right and submit to the purpose I was created for. I accept not the possibility but the certainty of who I’m meant to be. Chosen. This life hasn’t been easy for me, and everything that I’ve lost—my hand, my parents, and my daughter—has made me stronger. I love Jesus Christ with all my heart and soul, and I’m ready to be used for a higher calling, a divine purpose. This shelter has been so much more than just a place to rest my head. It has been a catharsis for my life. It’s been a blessing. The staff here has made me feel not just welcomed, but loved. Thank you, Alejandra, Jason, and Raul. Thank you, God. To make a difference is what I intend to do, and I will let the rest of my life be an expression of my gratitude. That is my goal. This is my mission.
